A Balenciaga haute couture black jersey wool coat, Summer 1958, labelled and numbered indistinctly. There is a similar example in the Grace Kelly collection. Unlined, it is cut loose and straight at the front but with the rear hem gathered into a button-ended band to create a soft cocoon shape.
